Major financial services is seeking a Unix Systems Engineer to be responsible for the system design and implementation of large scale UNIX and Linux deployments. The successful candidate will manage, maintain and support a large number of medium to enterprise class systems using in-house and standard Unix tools as well as research and develop new technologies and best practices implementation of complex and comprehensive solutions for enterprise. Off-hour support maybe required at times.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent
• 10+ years of experience in UNIX systems administration (Solaris, AIX, Linux)
• Project management skills
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent understanding of networking principles, TCP/IP, UDP, Routing, DNS
• Solid understanding of Storage and related Products, Solaris Volume Manager, Veritas Volume Manager, EMC, Hitachi, NAS
• Strong Scripting ability, Perl or Korn Shell
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Proven leadership skills and knowledge of automating enterprise application deployments
